Weatherization Assistance for Low-Income Persons

Energize Missouri Homes – The Department of Natural Resources is providing Recovery Act funding for energy efficiency improvements to homes of low-income families.  The department issued grants to 18 regional agencies that will deliver weatherization services to low-income Missourians throughout the state.

Energy Assurance Planning

The Department of Natural Resources will use the Recovery Act funding to strengthen and expand state and local government energy assurance planning. The plan will incorporate response actions for new energy portfolios and Smart Grid applications, build in-house state and local government energy assurance expertise, and create jobs.

State Energy Program

The Department of Natural Resources will provide Recovery Act funding for energy efficiency and renewable energy programs through various grants, loans and rebates to Energize Missouri Homes, Agriculture and Industry.  In addition, the state will develop a Missouri Energy Plan to provide a complete picture of the state’s energy status and focus on the important relationship between energy, environmental quality and economic vitality.

Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program

Energize Missouri Communities - The Department of Natural Resources will provide Recovery Act funding to smaller cities and counties to make their communities more energy efficient.  This program will help create and retain jobs; reduce fossil fuel emissions; reduce the total energy use of the eligible entities; and improve energy efficiency in the transportation, building and other appropriate sectors.  

State Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program

Energize Missouri Appliance Rebates - The Energize Missouri Appliance Rebates program will help Missourians lower costs, reduce home utility expenses, and benefit Missouri businesses by stimulating sales of energy efficient appliances and other household systems. The Department of Natural Resources will issue rebates for ENERGY STAR qualified appliances.
